Statement from Alex Eaton, Attorney for the Orleans County Legislature, Regarding Today's Oral Argument Relating to STAMP Pipeline

“We are disappointed by today’s result in Orleans County Supreme Court, but this is not the last opportunity to challenge the pipeline.  We have another lawsuit that is going to be heard in April regarding the use of eminent domain to take easements in Orleans County and the Tonawanda Seneca Nation continues their litigation against several federal entities regarding permitting.  We also intend to appeal today’s ruling.

“Orleans County leadership remains steadfast in our opposition to anything that puts Oak Orchard Creek in jeopardy.  The county and its residents rely on the creek for water, recreation and tourism, and that is why we will continue to protect the interests of our community.   Again, while we are disappointed in today’s result, there is a long way to go before this issue is settled.”
